Summary:Recent flooding has triggered renewed interest in a flood damage reduction project for New Hartford. This report documents a multi-disciplinary investigation into potential solutions to reduce flood damages. Some of the alternatives investigated include levees, channelization, flood-proofing, floodplain evacuation, flood-warning system, and reservoirs. None of the alternatives were found to be economically feasible, and the study has been terminated.
