Description
Summary:This Summary describes the operation, maintenance and research activities at the Norwegian Seismic Array (NORSAR), the Norway Regional Seismic Array (NORESS) and the Arctic Regional Seismic Array (ARCESS) for the reporting period. It also presents statistics from operation of the Intelligent Monitoring System (IMS). Data from the Finnish Experimental Seismic Array (FINESA) are also being recorded and processed at the NORSAR Data Center as well as in Helsinki, and results from NORSAR processing of these data are reported. The NORSAR detection processing system has operated throughout the period with an average uptime of 91.8 as compared to 94.9 for the previous reporting period. A total of 1648 seismic events were reported in the NORSAR monthly seismic bulletin. Performance of the continuous alarm system and the automatic bulletin transfer by telex of AFTAC has been satisfactory. Processing of requests for full NORSAR/ NORESS data on magnetic tapes has progressed according to established schedules.
