Summary:Two fabrics, a polyester/cotton fabric laminated with Goretex, and a nylon fabricated coated with Dermoflex, were proposed for the prototype Arctic clothing system. Samples of each fabric were subjected to various physical tests, both before and after laundering, at room temperature and at -40 deg C to determine the durability of the fabrics. Prototype garments made of the nylon fabric were laundered to determine the durability and effects of laundering on the construction. Donning and doffing of the prototype system was performed at O deg C and at -40 deg C. Keywords: Canada.
