Description
Summary:In anticipation of a demonstration project, limnological and glaciological studies were conducted on the St. Lawrence River during the period February - April 1979. The studies were planned with three overall objectives: 1) acquire additional data on the winter environment of the St. Lawrence River under non demonstration conditions; 2) determine the extent to which environmental conditions within the proposed 'Demonstration Corridor' can be predicted from monitoring sites located outside of the Corridor; and, 3) develop recommendations to assist in the design of future assessment of the environmental effects of winter navigation.
