Description
Summary:Ambient noise from horizontal and vertical hydrophones collected during FRAMIV is examined in the 100 Hz to 500 Hz frequency region. Potential ambient noise generating mechanisms are reviewed. Characteristic signatures of distinguishable noise events heard during FRAM IV are cataloged. The ambient noise spectral levels atr 100 Hz, 200 Hz and 300 Hz are compared with the air temperature fluctuations over the 14 day period of the FRAM IV exercise.
