Description
Summary:Several characteristics of oceanic surface waves can be altered by low rigidity sediments along the propagation path. Specifically spectral shape of both Love and Rayleigh waves as well as path phase velocity can be affected. The theoretical Love wave spectra is sensitive to both the nature of the low velocity zone and the sediment structure. Thus, observed Love wave spectra do not constrain focal depth.
