Summary:Data collected by ice observers during Naval Oceanographic Office polar research flights known as BIRDS EYE missions are contained in this report covering the fourth mission of 1966. The ice data include distribution, stages of development, topography, types of water openings, and ice boundaries. Ridge counts provide geographic distribution, number, and height of topographic features. Water opening data present the number, width, and orientation of water openings. The overall effectiveness of the mission is included as an evaluation table. (Author)
