Description
Summary:As part of the evaluation of the proposed icebreaker design being performed at the Naval Ship Research and Development Center for the United States Coast Guard, flow observations were made in the Circulating Water Channel of NSRDC. The purpose of this phase of work is to evaluate the bossing design and to observe the flow patterns into the propellers as affected by the afterbody design. Visual observations were made and motion pictures were taken for a more permanent record. The results are discussed herein with a brief description of the model test conditions. (Author)
