Summary:The Naval Oceanographic Office conducted an oceanographic survey in the northern Bering Sea from 25 January to 25 February 1968. Subsurface current measurements indicated a strong south-southwestward wind-driven flow to exist. Current speeds as high as 0.9 knot were observed between Sevoukuk Pt. and Mys Chukotskiy. In the south central Zaliv Anadyrskiy, temperatures were observed to increase with depth. The warmer water here probably is a remnant of the past summer conditions. (Author)
