Summary:A cruise was carried out aboard R/V CHAIN from 11 March to 26 March, 1972, leaving from and returning to Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Primary working areas were on the 70th meridian from 40 degrees N. to 28 degrees N. and in the MODE area around 28 degrees N., 68 deg 30 min W. Seven current-meter moorings were set and two others recovered. Two engineering moorings were set and one of them recovered. A detailed bathymetric survey was made of a section of the MODE area. Ten hydrographic and three CTD stations were taken. Six of the current-meter moorings comprised MODE-O, Array 3. (Author)
