Description
Summary:The report describes the development and testing of thermal type battery systems for the AN/PRC-77 and AN/PRC-74 radio sets. They were designed as emergency power sources for the radio systems when operating under adverse arctic weather conditions at temperatures as low as -65F where standard radio batteries are inadequate. Test results indicate that the batteries meet or exceed all important performance requirements under arctic weather conditions in Alaska.
