Description
Summary:The seminar entitled 'The Interpretation of Meteorological Satellite Data'. was held in Norfolk 15-16 August 1967 to acquaint personnel attending the DEEP FREEZE Forecaster's School conducted by Antarctic Support Activities, Detachment CHARLIE, with new developments in satellite photointerpretation techniques. Some of the material contained in this seminar had previously been published; but new insight was presented into several aspects of satellite cloud-photo interpretation and the subject as a whole was so well covered that a digest has been prepared from tape recordings for the sake of NAVWEARSERV personnel unable to be present. Satellite photographs have been included wherever possible, to facilitate visualizing the material being discussed. Where necessary, letters have been noted within the text and depicted on the photographs to indicate the feature being discussed. (Author)
