Description
Summary:The Caribou-Poker Creeks Research Watershed was established in 1969 as a site for cooperative, inter-agency investigation of hydrologic and related aspects of a subarctic environemnt. The relatively undisturbed 4O-square-mile drainage basin includes both permafrost-dominated and non-permafrost watersheds, and has a variety of vegetation communities. Initial research is directed to furthering understanding of hydrologic behavior of north-facing (permafrost) and south-facing (non-permafrost) basins in this upland setting. (Author)
