Description
Summary:The acoustic properties of frozen earth materials were investigated. The study consists of four different efforts described in four sections. In the first part the velocities of dilatational waves were measured with the pulse first-arrival technique. In the second part a linear viscoelastic constitutive equation was obtained by the use of the resonance column technique. In the third part the method of free oscillation of spherical specimens was developed. In the last part the acoustic properties were determined by the use of a critical angle tank.
