Summary: | The problem of the role of migratory birds in spreading of arboviruses between Siberia and South Asia has acquired especial significance after discovery of arboviruses belonging to Russian spring-summer encephalitis (RSSE) complex in South-East Asia. The wide natural immunisation of birds by the arbovirus belonging to RSSE-complex has been determined without participation of Ixodid ticks in West Siberia forest-steppe. (Omsk haemorrhagic fever foci). The transmission of Omsk fever is possible through mosquitoes. The mosquitoes can communicate virus from migratory birds to the local susceptible vertebrate. It is impossible to exclude this role of mosquitoes in taiga foci of RSSE as well. Ondathra zibetica is immunized by Omsk virus without participation of ticks, Ixodidae as well. This rodent keeps in touch with waterfowl (forest-steppe lakes) and is susceptible to Omsk fever virus. The virological and parasitological investigations of birds, their parasites, Arthropoda, and blood-sucking mosquitoes must be equally binding for the certain points of bird ringing.
