Summary:An experiment for the measurement of vertical distribution of ozone in the subpolar region was made at Fort Greely, Alaska. Four rocket-borne ozonesondes were flown during the last week of December 1968. The results show large variations with altitude in the ozone concentration in the lower stratosphere and more ozone than previously theorized near 40km. There is no indication of any significant diurnal variation in the ozone concentration in the upper stratosphere. (Author)
