Description
Summary:The data on water movements between the East Siberian and Chukchi Seas are based on observations conducted by expeditions during 1929-1935 and in 1952, 1953 and 1956. Also the records of a radio buoy are analysed. Thus a rather comprehensive pattern of prevailing winds and currents, as well as their shifts and variations, is obtained. The discussion is illustrated with graphs and tables showing the currents at the surface and bottom. Their directions and speeds are subject to change, depending on the geographical location and winds in various seasons and years. (Author) Trans. of Problemy Arktiki (USSR) n1 p35-40 1957.
