Summary:Polar bears can now be captured in large numbers for the study of their migration and population dynamics. However, in order to fully discover migratory patterns and determine the number of polar bears in existance it is necessary for Canada, Denmark, Norway, the USSR and the USA, nations which border the polar basin, to work together. Tagging a large number of polar bears will be necessary as well as an exchange of biologists between the nations to insure close cooperation and to gather uniform data. The Norwegians and Americans have worked closely and effectively together and hopefully this spirit of cooperation can be extended to the other nations.
