Description
Summary:The material for the present communication was supplied by the plankton collections made during the IGY by the research ship Mikhail Lomonosov (2nd, 4th, 7th and 11th voyages) and by the expeditionary vessel Sevastopol (14th voyage). The plankton was collected with a small Juday net made of 38 silk gauze, at standard horizons from depths 500 or 1000 m to the surface. The quantitative analysis of the zooplankton was carried out by a method developed in VNIRO (All -Union Scientific Institute for Marine Fishing and Oceanography).
