Summary: | This report covers a review of the state-of-theart of winterization of military motorized road graders. The winterization system enables equipment to start and operate satisfactorily under relatively extreme winter or arctic conditions, involving factors of low ambient temperature, wind, falling or blowing snow and sleet, frozen terrain with accumulated snow and ice on the surface. More specifically, for a motor grader the winterization system is designed to provide the protection as necessary for the operator and the machine, particularly the engine, so that the important task of snow removal can be carried on to keep roads passable and airstrips usable during the winter months.
