Description
Summary:Nowadays there is tendency to an increase in the number of children born without a father. The article presents the results of studying child-parent relations in an uncomplete (maternal) family. The aim of the study is identify the type of parental relationship in the maternal family. The subject of this work is parent-child relationships in the maternal family. The subjects of the study were 60 teenagers and 60 single mothers living in rural area of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The research was carried out with the use of psychodiagnostic questionnaire "Parents behavior and attitude towards them" (ADOR – abbreviated adolescents about parents), questionnaire of the paternal relationship (A.Ya. Varga, V.V. Stolin), method for studying the structure of an integral individuality on 120 symptoms (T.F. Basylevich). There were marked the styles of relationship with adolescent children preferred by the alone mothers. It was found that the negative or positive perception of paternal relationship largely depends on the sex of adolescents: the mother`s desire to infantilize the child is perceived by the boys as negative, by the girls as positive. Differences also exist in the indicators within the same sex, depending on the set-up structure of adolescent individuality. Mothers of sons belonging to the I typological syndrome of individuality are more disposed to ignorance than mothers of boys with the II typological syndrome. The mother`s desire to infantilize an extroverted son is perceived by him as hostile one, i.e. aggressive and excessive severity on the side of mother in interpersonal relationships. The results of study can be used by school psychologists and educators in their practical work.
