Description
Summary:The article describes the current situation and prospects for the development of economic activity in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, as well as the risks associated with global climate change. Based on the analysis of the latest research by Russian and foreign scientists, the current and predicted dangerous natural processes and phenomena of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, such as geomorphological, biological, hydrological, seismic and others, are considered. Climate conditions in the Arctic and their changes should be considered not only as a source of frequent natural hazards, but also as a reflection of negative changes in the environment that damage the living conditions of the population, their health, the work of enterprises, transport, and social infrastructure.
