Description
Summary:The events of September 11, 2021 have triggered a major change in the international system. In their aftermath, international terrorism has become the main threat and this war against it was launched. Romania then decided to behave like a NATO member by getting involved in the Afghanistan campaign. The mission in which it was involved also coincided with the modernization of the Romanian army, a process which was carried out in order to make it compatible with the armies of the member states of the North Atlantic Alliance. Regardless of how the withdrawal from Afghanistan took place, Romania’s objective can be said to have been achieved, which is to demonstrate that it is a member on which allies can rely.
