Description
Summary:Geological survey of the western and central Sør Rondane Mountains was carried out by the Sør Rondane Mountains Geology party (4 geologists and one field manager) of the 61st Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition from 8th November 2019 to 17th January 2020. We stayed at the Princess Elisabeth Antarctica during the first and the last two weeks of the research period. Between these periods, we spent about one month in base camps at Brattnipene and Mefjell for the field survey. In this report, we describe the details of the operation plans and the actual activities performed in the Sør Rondane Mountains.
