Summary:On September 23, 2017, at the Dzhankoy Automobile Border-crossing Point at the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Republic of Crimea, the officers of the Crimean Customs together with the officers of the Federal Security Service Directorate stopped the illegal export of Gyrfalcon (Falco rusticolus) from the Russian Federation. On September 30, 2017, in the Altai Republic near the village of Souzga, the officers of the Border Directorate of the Federal Security Service of Russia detained two residents of the village of Tashanta (Kosh-Agachsky District, the Altai Republic), in the passenger compartment of the car of which the Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug) was found. On October 31, 2017, at 19:25, police officers of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Kyzylorda region stopped a LADA Largus car and, during an inspection, found 2 Saker Falcons (Falco cherrug) wrapped in cloth. The attempt of smuggling of 23 falcons to the United Arab Emirates was stopped at the airport of Astana (Kazakhstan) on March 9, 2018. On August 11, 2018, near the village of Narderen in the Gobustansky region of Azerbaijan, a citizen of Turkey, Issi Erchan Mehmet oglu, who caught Falcons illegally, was detained as a result of operational activities. On August 29, 2018, state inspectors of the rapid reaction department of the Khakassky Reserve (Republic of Khakassia, Russia) detained a citizen of Syria, who was catching falcons illegally on the territory of the reserved area “Kamyzyaksky steppe and Lake Ulug-Kol. On September 23, 2018, when processing an international flight “Almaty–Sharjah”, border guards found a black travel bag containing 7 Saker Falcons (Falco cherrug), packed in boxes, belonging to a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan of 1981 year of birth. On October 30, 2018, in the Hadzhigabulsky region of Azerbaijan, a poacher, Imran Mamedov, a resident of the village of Atbulag, was detained red-handed with a Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug), 2 small falcons and hunting accessories.
