Summary:The most challenging problem, which has evolved in the past years, is our rapidly changing biosphere and the necessity to bridge the gap of increased demand of natural resources and minimising environmental damage resulting from human activities. This report summarizes the following subjects: availability of data from ENVISAT sensors, support of research with ENVISAT and related data, algorithm development and validation for additional data products, synergistic data products and time series, involvement of scientific users, and involvement of application-oriented, operational users. The disciplines adressed are: Land, Water (Physical Oceanography), Water (Hydro-biosphere), Sea ice and land ice/Glaciers, Atmosphere.
