Description
Summary:Green filter treatment plants can function as reservoirs of biodiversity. The accumulated organic matter together with the permanence and shallow depth of the water provide migration, breeding and wintering areas for shorebirds (Order Charadriiformes). In this note, 264 records are collected during the period 2016-2022 at the treatment plant of La Gineta (Albacete). A total of 18 species (13 strict migrants) were recorded, with maximum richness during the prenuptial (april) and postnuptial (september) migration. The breeding of black-winged stilt and little ringed plover was also confirmed, as well as the regular wintering of common snipe.
