Description
Summary:The Antarctic Continent is under the environmental protection of different international organizations that together govern this territory. An important tool to ensure the conservation of Antarctic biodiversity was the creation and management of a system of terrestrial and marine protected areas. However, changes in environmental pressures in recent decades have generated the need for the member countries of these organizations to review the efficiency of the system and to broaden or modify its scope and objectives.
