| Summary: | The climatic emergency that threats the Arctic constitutes a challenge for the International Community. The inhabitants of this space, mainly indigenous peoples, face a dramatic situation, because their way of life is disappearing. In this context, Arctic peoples formulate the right to be cold. This paper analyzes the implications of this proposal from the point of view of International Human Rights Law, examining the progress made in the link between the environment, climate change and human rights, the initiatives that the Arctic peoples have proposed in the Inter-American System of Human Rights and the theoretical discussion that this proposal generates. La emergencia climática que atenaza el Ártico constituye un reto para la Comunidad Internacional. Los habitantes de este espacio, muchos de ellos, pueblos indígenas, se enfrentan a una situación dramática, en la que ven cómo su forma de vida está desapareciendo. En este contexto, reclaman la realización del derecho al frío. Este trabajo analiza las implicaciones que tiene esta propuesta desde el punto de vista del Derecho Internacional de los Derechos Humanos, examinando los avances realizados en la vinculación entre medio ambiente, cambio climático y derechos humanos, las iniciativas que los pueblos árticos han planteado en el Sistema Interamericano de protección de Derechos Humanos y el análisis teórico que esta propuesta genera.
