Summary:This article describes and analyzes the Chilean-Argentinean diplomatic process between 1906-1908 that was intended to draw a line of demarcation in the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Continent, but which for reasons that were unfortunate and still poorly understood this initiative of Foreign Minister Puga and the Argentinean diplomat in Santiago Lorenzo Anadón was not successful. Se describe y analiza el proceso diplomático chileno-argentino que entre 1906 y 1908 pretendió definir una línea demarcadora en las islas Shetland del Sur y en el Continente Antártico, pero que lamentablemente y por circunstancias todavía no muy claras, la iniciativa del Canciller Puga Borne y del diplomático argentino en Santiago Lorenzo Anadón no logró hacerse una realidad.
