Summary:The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the tubers from Solanum tuberosum spp. andigena on second degree burns induced in Rattus rattus var. albinus . We worked with 20 specimens of experimentation, it randomly divided into four groups of five specimens each: white, control, experimental (Received cataplasm natural lyophilized, chuño, tuber of Solanum tuberosum spp andigena, topically) and pattern (received silver sulfadiazine 1% topically). An experimental mouse model to induce burn second degree burns in Rattus rattus var. albinus was performed using a 100 watt light bulb, making the burning process in three stages, each for 20 seconds, previously anesthetized. Variations of burnt body area 2 (mm ) to lateral and craneocaudal level, performing measurements of lesions every two days for the control of scarring was evaluated for 13 days. The results show a clear reduction of body area burned to the experimental pattern and the control group (p<0.01) groups. We conclude that the Solanum tuberosum spp. andigena has healing effect on second-degree burns induced in Rattus rattus var. albinus. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar el efecto de los tubérculos de Solanum tuberosum spp. andigena sobre quemaduras de segundo grado inducidas en Rattus rattus var. albinus. Se trabajó con 20 especímenes de experimentación, divididos aleatoriamente en cuatro gruposde cinco cada uno: blanco, control, experimental (que recibió cataplasma de liofilizado natural, chuño, de los tubérculo de Solanum tuberosum spp. andigena, vía tópica) y patrón (que recibió sulfadiazina de plata 1%, vía tópica). Se utilizó un modelo experimental de ratón quemado para inducir quemaduras de segundo grado en Rattus rattus var. albinus, utilizando un foco eléctrico de 100 watts, realizando el proceso de quemado en tres etapas, cada una durante 20 segundos, anestesiados previamente.
