| Summary: | This research concern about whaling. This activity demonstrated from the colonial period, a close relationship between the River Plate harbours. This reality is founded on documents and bibliography, sources that helped us to develop the whaling theme in Antarctic and sub-Antarctic waters, demonstrating the industrialization capabilities and the high benefits especially obtained by English and American catchers. In the same way, we can comprobate clearly the frustrated Spanish attempts to control in such a manner to carry improving plans in this regard. But the real novelty was the finding �in a source as important as the time press- one series news that made us aware that a large group of young Uruguayans took part in several hunting whales campaigns integrated in Argentina Fishing Company personal. This unusual work was performed at the beginning of World War II, and according to the interesting testimonies of some of these guys, we could know some datas about life in that factory, notice of incredible average daily hunting, and even facts that evidence the strategic importance area in which denounced the presence and actions of German war ships.
