Summary:This bibliographic and documentary research aims to describe briefly the development of the historical background for which Chile basis at the Decade of 1940 and 1950 sovereignty rights over the Chilean Antarctic Territory delimited by the Supreme Decree No. 1747 on November 6, 1940 during the Government of Pedro Aguirre Cerda. El objetivo de la presente investigación bibliográfica y documental es describir brevemente el desarrollo de los antecedentes históricos por los cuales Chile fundamento hacia la década de 1940 y 1950 derechos de soberanía sobre el Territorio Antártico Chileno delimitado durante el gobierno de Pedro Aguirre Cerda a través del Decreto Supremo Nº 1.747 del 6 de noviembre de 1940.
