| Summary: | In recent years, as the effects ofglobal warming have become more apparent, the Arctic has begun to come intoprominence not only on climatic issues but also on political issues. With themelting of glacial masses, access to the area was facilitated; the rich naturalresource potential and the possibility of using new trade routes havetransformed the region into a global geography. In the Arctic, which hasstrategic importance on the global scale, a stable international political orderhas prevailed since the Cold War. It is important to understand the nature ofthe international political order that dominates the region in order tomaintain this stability in the coming years, where the possibility of conflictsof interest is expected to increase. In this paper, firstly, it is questionedwhether there is a stable order as defined in the International Relationsdiscipline; and then the international order in the region is discussed in thecontext of three different theoretical approaches. Küresel ısınmanın etkilerinin daha belirgin bir şekildehissedilmeye başlandığı son yıllarda Arktik Bölge, sadece iklimsel konulardadeğil, siyasi konularda da ön plana çıkmaya başlamıştır. Buzul kütlelerinin erimesiylebölgeye erişim kolaylaşmış; zengin doğal kaynak potansiyeli ve yeni ticaretyollarının kullanım ihtimali bölgeyi küresel bir coğrafya halinedönüştürmüştür. Küresel ölçekte stratejik öneme sahip olan bölgede, SoğukSavaş’tan bu yana istikrarlı bir uluslararası politik düzen hâkimdir. Çıkarçatışmaları ihtimalinin artacağı öngörülen önümüzdeki yıllarda bu istikrarınsürdürülebilmesi için, bölgeye hâkim uluslararası siyasi düzenin doğasınıanlamak önemlidir. Çalışmada, öncelikle Uluslararası İlişkiler disiplinindetanımlandığı şekliyle istikrarlı bir düzen olup olmadığı sorgulanmış, ardındanbölgedeki uluslararası düzen üç farklı teorik yaklaşım bağlamında elealınmıştır. |
