| Summary: | "This detailed map of Munich was published in Bremen by Wilhelm Jontzen in 1909 on behalf of the Norddeutscher Lloyd shipping company. Parks, tree-lined boulevards, gardens, and other outdoor areas are highlighted in green while red overprinting notes the electric railways and locations of interest to an English-speaking audience; namely the consulate, the Norddeutscher Lloyd ticket office, an English church, and the train station (the primary point for arrivals from the ports at Bremen and Bremerhaven). Numerous other buildings are also labeled (in German), while advertisements, information about the city, and a distance table are provided on the verso (in English). Two years prior to publication, the Panic of 1907 crippled the finances of Norddeutscher Lloyd, who was heavily reliant on the transportation of European emigrants to America in the first decade of the 20th century.
