Verso to front cover has label - “Farvandsbeskr. B.II.a.l.” and stamp “Marinens Bibliotek, 2den Afdoling, Søkort-Arkivet . “ Volume comprised of 49 nautical charts of the North Atlantic Ocean on 40 leaves to plates - mostly double - with 10 charts on one plate together. Charts show cities, coastlines, islands, sailing routes, ocean currents, storm tracks, fog belts, equatorial rains, tropical cyclones and wind, as well as icebergs, ice fields and the limits of ice coverage. Data visualization illustrates wind force and directions. Descriptive text accompanies charts, covering topics such as weather, earthquakes, waterspouts, derelicts, dangerous navigation, shipwrecks and "unusual phenomena". Atlas depicts the ocean activity during each month from January, 1887, to December, 1889. In addition, other charts feature the derelict American schooner "W. L.
