Both volumes include descriptive text in double columns on products, trading companies and treaties of commerce, and a vast range of other information of value to merchants. Bound in hard covers contemporary calf, with Vol. number on spines in gilt. Vol. 1: Contains engraved allegorical frontispiece by C. Mosley, text in double columns, and 24 folded map sheets, engraved by T.Kitchin or R.W.Seale, depict Europe (4 sheets), Asia (8 sheets), North America (4 sheets), South America (4 sheets), and Africa (4 sheets). The maps are updated from Anville by Boulton (although Boulton is spelled Bolton on these maps).
