Third part of the atlas of Selves, devoted to modern Geography. Published in 4 parts: I. Geographie ancienne II. Geographie du moyen age III-IV. Ǵographie moderne actuelle. Part 3 created under the direction of the Royal Council of Public Instruction, for the use of colleges. Contains lithographed title page, 33 maps dated 1822-1869, hand-colored lithographed double page and some folded maps, black and white views and Distance chart. Some maps mounted on linen. Extra maps and views are pasted in. Includes 16 maps of the world, mostly of Europe a map of North America, showing the U.S. after the Louisiana Purchase and an extended Mexico going far north to Oregon. Modern-day Texas is shown mostly as part of Mexico with some of the northern portion belonging to the U.S. 17 maps, distance chart and views have been added to the atlas. Maps are bound in half leather light brown marbled paper-covered boards. Quarter bound with medium brown leather.
