There are three version of atlas, Comprehensive edition, with 100 map sheets, Medium edition, with 65 map sheets and Concise edition, with 25 map sheets. This is the large comprehensive edition, with 100 maps, contains maps of planets, stars, world, Europe, major countries in Europe, detailed regional maps of Europe, and 26 maps of other continents and parts of the world. Maps redrawn or completely revised for the 6th edition, engraved by F. Handtke. Includes table of contents in title page. Heinrich Berghaus, German geographer has made a minor contribution to the atlas in 1847.
