Description
Summary:This documentation data set is a description of the University of Bergen collection of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data of Total Electron Content and scintillation data at 60 s time resolution. The data collection started in 2013, when the University of Bergen installed four NovAtel GPStation-6 GNSS Ionospheric Scintillation and Total Electron Content Monitors in Svalbard: Ny-Ålesund (NYA, 78.9N, 11.9E) Longyearbyen (KHO, 78.1N, 16.0E) Hopen (HOP, 76.5N, 25.0E) Bjørnøya (BJN, 74.5N, 19.0E) This collection is organized in a series of sub data sets, organized by year, location and data parameter. Each sub data set refers back to this documentation data set, which gives a detailed description of the overall data format and structure of the 60 second Total Electron Content and scintillation data. The measurements include signals from GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO at different frequencies. These data are used for research on space weather disturbances in the polar ionosphere. This documentation data set is part of a larger collection: Oksavik, Kjellmar, 2020. "The University of Bergen Global Navigation Satellite System Data Collection".
