Sea ice concentration in northern Baltic Sea for March 3, 2017 for OSI-SAF product (left), and simulated CIMR Sea ice concentration product (right). Grey areas indicate regions of missing data. The figure shows the use of CIMR for sea ice for operational modelling provides information about sea ice in areas which current OSI-SAF observations are unable to determine, such as the Gulf of Finland.
