Summary: | Data were collected from Imnavait Creek watershed, in northern Alaska. Lysimeters were installed in hillslope or riparian landscape positions, and within the organic soil horizon (12 cm deep) or at the mineral-permafrost interface (~50 cm deep). Pore waters from each lysimeter (n=36) were measured for structural (1H-NMR) and fluorescence (EEMS) characteristics, as well as bulk chemistry (total dissolved carbon, nitrogen, phosphate). Potassium bromide was applied as a conservative tracer to estimate the velocity of water movement downslope (preferential flow) and down-valley (lateral flow). |
