Description
Summary:Maximum-likelihood (RAxML) 18S rRNA phylogenetic tree showing the placement of amplicon sequence variants (ASVs) from the local metabarcoding dataset, sequences of diatom cultures from this study and compiled diatom reference sequences. The ASVs from the local dataset are marked in red, with total read numbers provided after ASV numbers. The sequences of diatoms cultured in this study are marked in purple, sequences published by Gérikas Ribeiro et al. (2020) are marked in red, and sequences published by Balzano et al. (2017) are marked in purple. The remaining sequences marked in black are diatom sequences from PR2 (v. 4.10.0) excluding the environmental sequences.
