Description
Summary:A 40-year integrated global snowmelt onset dataset (1979–2018) is produced by combining the estimates over sea ice, ice sheets and the terrestrial snow from spaceborne microwave radiometers. The melt onset dataset is produced over the Northern Hemisphere (NH) and Southern Hemisphere (SH) for each year, with a spatial resolution of 25 km. Note that NH_1987 is not included due to the continuous missing of satellite observations. The globally integrated snowmelt onset (MO) dataset brings new insights into the climate dynamics in the cryosphere and the associated atmospheric controls.
