Description
Summary:This fileset contains data used to reconstruct the Quaternary landscape evolution of the southern Laurentide Ice Sheet (LIS) region in North America. These data include geographic information systems vector and raster files used to reconstruct the pre-glacial topography covered by the southern LIS during Quaternary glaciations. The authors compiled bedrock elevation data from 18 U.S. States and Canadian Provinces in North America as well as the bordering Great Lakes. This effort improves on previous work to provide a broad-scale digital elevation model with 250-m grid resolution. In addition to helping researchers understand landscape evolution, these data are useful for groundwater resource planning and seismic data interpretation among other applications.
