Tenthredo (Rhogogaster) carpatica Zhelochovtsev & Zinovjev, 1988, lectotype, male Current placement: Rhogogaster scalaris (Klug, 1817) Original description (in key): "71 (1). Наличник отделен от лица резкой бороздкой. Глаза внизу широко раздвинуты, расстояние между ними шире наличника (рис. 194, 6). Правое жвало с четырехугольным баз. зубцом (рис. 198, 1). Зеленые, сверху с черным рисунком. (Подрод Rhogogaster Knw.). 72 (83). Ус. заметно длиннее головы и гр., взятых вместе (6 : 5). Глаза у обоих полов отодвинуты от наличника на расстояние, равное дл. 2-го чл. ус. Ан. яч. пер. крл. с поперечной жилкой. (Группа Т. viridis ). [73(74)...] 74 (73). Терг. бр. без пятнышек по бокам, теменная площадка той же окраски, как и окружающее темя. 75 (78). Пульвиллы 1-го чл. задн. лапки у обоих полов короче ширины 1-го чл. на вершине. Черное пятно на лбу соприкасается с глазами и полностью покрывает теменную площадку. Бр. с черной полосой посередине, занимающей ⅓ терг. 76 (77). Щитик, посттерг. и заднещитик зеленые. Щитик весь блестящий. Продольная бороздка лба так же углублена, как и надус. бороздки. Зубцы пилки — рис. 198, 4. Вальва пениса — рис. 198, 8. 8.5—12. На осине. — Сев.-зап., центр, вост.; степной Казахстан, Джунгарский хр., на вост. до Прибайкалья. — Центр и сев. Зап. Европы T. ( Rh .) dryas Benson 77 (76). Щитик со светлым пятном, его черная часть матовая; посттерг. и заднещитик черные. Продольная бороздка лба более мелкая, чем надус. Зубцы пилки и вальвы пениса иные. — Центр, Закарпатье, Ср. Урал; Зап. Сибирь, Тува, Камчатка Т. ( Rh .) carpatica Bokotey " Zhelochovtsev & Zinovjev (1988) keyed “Tenthredo (Rhogogaster) carpatica Bokotey”, but because this species had not previously been described, they became authors of the species name. The description is restricted to the insufficient information in this key. Regarding the genitalia, it is only stated that they are different from R. dryas (= R. viridis ). Zhelochovtsev prepared the manuscript of the key, but died already in 1976, and Zinovjev later completed this and had it published. The name “carpatica” was thus made unintentionally available by these authors. The coloration of the three available males is rather variable. The mesoscutellum of the lectotype is almost black with a faint pale patch, but largely green in the paralectotypes. The types agree with the description of Tenthredo pictipes Förster, 1850. Similar forms were also found in the Harz Mountains in Germany. The penis valves of the carpatica types are not different from the valves of R. scalaris . Currently, these dark forms are considered to belong to scalaris.
