Description
Summary:European Commission. Digital Agenda for Europe: Broadband - Speed and Prices | Country: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden | Indicator: Households that have no access to Internet at home, because the costs are too high (Percentage of households) | Breakdown Group: Total | Breakdown: All households, 2011 - 2017. Data-Planet™ Statistical Datasets by Conquest Systems, Inc. Dataset-ID: 074-001-003 Dataset: Presents metrics on the price and speed of Internet access in European nations. The dataset comprises approximately 100 indicators selected by the European Commission, divided into thematic groups, which illustrate some key dimensions of the European information society. These indicators allow a comparison of progress across European countries as well as over time. Indicators track progress toward meeting the goals set forth in the Digital Agenda for Europe 2020, originally established at the Digital Assembly, and revised in ensuing years. The goals focus on seven pillars: digital single market; interoperability and standards; trust and security; fast and ultra-fast internet access; research and innovation; enhancing digital literacy, skills and inclusion; information and communication technology-enabled benefits for European Union society. http://ec.europa.eu/digital-agenda/download-data Category: Industry, Business, and Commerce, International Relations and Trade Subject: Information and Communications Technology, Internet Access, Internet Source: European Commission The European Commission represents the interests of the European Union (EU) as a whole. It proposes new legislation to the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union, and it ensures that EU law is correctly applied by member countries. The European Commission is one of three main institutions involved in EU legislation. The other two are the European Parliament, which represents the EU’s citizens and is directly elected by them; and the Council of the European Union, which represents the governments of the individual member countries. The Presidency of the Council is rotated among member nations. http://ec.europa.eu/index_en.htm
