Description
Summary:Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (2017). Food and Agriculture Organization Statistics: Prices - Producer Prices (Annual) | Country: Iceland | Item: Meat live weight, sheep | Element: Producer Price (LCU/tonne) - LCU, 1991-2013. Data-Planet™ Statistical Ready Reference by Conquest Systems, Inc. [Data-file]. Dataset-ID: 067-001-010. Dataset: Presents statistics on prices received by farmers for primary crops, live animals, and livestock primary products as collected at the farm-gate or at the first point of sale. Data are provided for over 130 countries and for some 200 commodities, representing over 97 percent of the world's value of gross agricultural production (at 2004-2006 International Dollar Prices). Producer prices are provided in three units: (2) local currency units (LCU); (2) standard local currency (SLC); and, (3) US dollars. Prices in LCU refer to the currency prevailing in a country in the year of data reporting. Thus, if there is (are) currency change(s) in a country during the years for which data is available, the data series will refer to more than one currency. Prices in SLC are standardized to reflect data in one currency only, normally the currency in the most recent year of data reporting. Data are reported from 1991-current and may not be comparable to historical data found in the Price Archive dataset. The time-series and cross-sectional data provided here are from the FAOSTAT database of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Statistics include measures related to the food supply; forestry; agricultural production, prices, and investment; and trade and use of resources, such as fertilizers, land, and pesticides. As available, data are provided for approximately 245 countries and 35 regional areas from 1961 through the present. The data are typically supplied by governments to FAO Statistics through national publications and FAO questionnaires. Official data have sometimes been supplemented with data from unofficial sources and from other national or international agencies or organizations. In particular, for the European Union member countries, with the exception of Spain, data obtained from EUROSTAT have been used. Category: Agriculture and Food, Prices, Consumption, and Cost of Living Source: Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Established in 1945 as a specialized agency of the United Nations, the Food and Agricultural Organization’s mandate is to raise levels of nutrition, improve agricultural productivity, better the lives of rural populations, and contribute to the growth of the world economy. Staff experts in seven FAO departments serve as a knowledge network to collect, analyze, and disseminate data, sharing policy expertise with member countries and implementing projects and programs throughout the world aimed at achieving rural development and hunger alleviation goals. The Statistics Division of the Food and Agricultural Organization collates and disseminates food and agricultural statistics globally. http://www.fao.org/ Subject: Prices, Agricultural Production, Agricultural Commodities, Livestock, Crop Prices, Agricultural Products
