Description
Summary:Eurostat. Eurostat Statistics: Agriculture | Country: Bulgaria | Variable: Total whole milk (availabilities = utilization) : Products obtained (1 000 t), 1987 - 2013. Data-Planet™ Statistical Datasets by Conquest Systems, Inc. Dataset-ID: 065-001-018 Dataset: Presents a series of indicators that provide an overview of agriculture in European Union member states, EU aggregates, and other nations on an ad hoc basis. Agricultural statistics are presented on a wide range of topics, including farm structure and management, utilization of farming land, labor input, agricultural production, supply and use of agriculture products, prices and price indices, and agricultural income. Statistics on agricultural products are shown in physical units (number, weight, quantity) and describe land use; livestock; crop production; meat, milk, and milk products production and activity of hatcheries. The orchards survey contains data on fruit trees, and the vineyard survey contains the results of surveys of areas under vines (basic, every 10 years, and intermediate, annually) carried out by European Economic Area ([EEA] comprising European Union countries and Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein members with at least 500 ha under vines in the open air. Organic farming, defined as a method of production that places the highest emphasis on environmental protection and, with regard to livestock production, animal welfare considerations. The data overview the situation regarding organic farming within the European Economic Area. Regional data are presented by NUTS (Nomenclature of Units for Territorial Statistics) regions as defined and regulated by the EU. Data are available for economic accounts, land use, animal population, crop production, and milk production. The information may be less detailed than the figures for the whole country. Provides harmonized, national-level data on the euro area, European Union (EU) member states, EU candidate states, and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries, where available. Indicators are presented in seven broad categories: economy and finance; population and social conditions; industry, trade, and services; agriculture, forestry, and fisheries; international trade; transportation; environment and energy; and science and technology. The euro area comprises the EU member states that adopted the euro as their common currency, which was established in January 1999 with 11 countries and has expanded to 17 countries known as the EA-17: Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia and Finland. The EU (EU-27) includes the EA-17 countries plus: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. EFTA currently comprises Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland. For further information on the countries included in the statistics presented in this dataset, please visit http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statistics-explained/index.php/Main_Page . Data are provided by national statistical authorities to Eurostat, where they are harmonized using European-wide methodologies. Data are released at the indicator level on a schedule maintained by Eurostat; hence, currency may vary across indicators. Periodicity is annual for all indicators; monthly and quarterly data is also provided where available. http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/estat-navtree-portlet-prod/BulkDownloadListing Category: International Relations and Trade, Agriculture and Food Subject: Agriculture, Agricultural Products, Agricultural Labor, European Union, Farming Sector, Agricultural Production, Agricultural Land, Farming Source: Eurostat Eurostat is the statistical office of the European Union (EU) located in Luxembourg. Eurostat was established in 1953 to meet the requirements of the Coal and Steel Community. Over the years its task has broadened, and it became a Directorate-General (DG) of the European Commission when the European Community was founded in 1958. Eurostat’s key role is to supply comparable statistics on European Union member state and candidate and European Free Trade Association countries to other DGs and supply the Commission and other European Institutions with data so they can define, implement, and analyze EU policies. Eurostat does not collect data; rather, the agency’s role is to consolidate data sent from the statistical authorities of member states and ensure they are comparable, harmonized according to Europe-wide methodologies. With the development of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) and the establishment of the euro as the single currency, Eurostat now publishes economic indicators for the whole euro-zone. http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu/
