Dataset: The Population, Health and Human Well-being dataset was compiled by WRI from numerous sources, and includes 138 metrics related to socioeconomic, health, and general well-being of a population, including indicators related to labor and income; transportation; urban and rural population; vital statistics (maternity, life expectancy, and child and infant mortality); other indicators of childrens health and public health; AIDS/HIV; water and sanitation; literacy; primary, secondary, and tertiary school education; access to information (including the Internet and telephone); migrants and displaced persons; households and housing conditions; and women. Data are from a variety of sources, including United Nation (UN) Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO); The World Bank; UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Population Division (UNPD); UN Children's Fund (UNICEF); Joint UN Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS); World Health Organization (WHO); UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Institute for Statistics; International Telecommunication Union; UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR); Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre, Norwegian Refugee Council; UN Development Programme (UNDP); UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT); and International Road Federation (IRF). EarthTrends is a comprehensive online database, maintained by the World Resources Institute, that focuses on the environmental, social, and economic trends that shape our world.
